Heartstopper is literally just good vibes packaged in a book and sold to teenagers. It is an easy and fast read. My rating for it would be the last a 4 out of 5.
Vol 2 follows Charlie and Nick’s relationship as boyfriends. First, they start making out but have to keep it on the down-low because Nick is still figuring stuff out.
Charlie – bless his heart- is very accomodating and so are his friends but Nick’s friends, especially that one they call Harry are a piece of work.
While Charlie joins Nick and his friends to watch a movie at the cinema, Harry harasses him. After Charlie is gone, Nick loses it and he gets into a fight with Harry. That fight propels Nick to accept his sexuality and he finally decides to come out to his mother.
I really don’t have anything bad to say about it. It is just a feel-good story that was created to bring joy to its readers and those going through similar situations.
I am yet to finish reading COCK but I read some other book that was so underwhelming, that I couldn’t even bother to write about it. The sad thing is that the book is being made into a movie. The irony right?
Oh well, I might need to go back and finish COCK.
A Quick Update
The series is out and I am watching. On episode 4 currently and would write my thoughts on it later.
